Default great opportunity!

I have first crack at purchasing a 2004 996tt w/25,000 miles, 1 owner (who I know indirectly), all records available.

It's got the chrome turbo wheels, convertible, and has tiptronic trans. No performance mods, but has integrated radar detector and rear parking sensors.

Metalic black exterior paint, black top with black interior leather with red contrast stitching.

Owner has many ferraris' and exotics and he's selling this one. Has been maintained mechanically quite well, but I wouldn't say it's been pampered. Nothing a good polish and detail won't fix. Interior is like new, just not sparkly clean. No signs of wear at all.

He just replaced the alternator, water pump, battery, and had some small issues sorted. New tires, new conv. top. Will preform 30k maintenance prior to selling and allow me a PPI. No problem obtaining cars history, I've bought a car from him before and a friend has also with no issues.

This is his toy when he's in the Miami area. Very wealthy and has hinted to me his selling price.

I took a photo of the fruck sticker but can't find it, but I can list the codes:

Eng. code/trans. code M9670-644 A9650- 10
Paint no./interior LC9Z 03
Options C02 XCA XCB XCC XCD
XMP XTR XJ4 XV1 X54
X70 X71 X99 249 342
00051 09971 09991

Any way, I'm a Mercedes guy and not a Porsche guy.

Will post pictures soon.

?'s are:

Can someone list what the option codes are?
What color paint is?
Any thoughts on price? I don't speak with him directly, I deal with his "personal affairs manager", but sub 40K was hinted at.

thanks guys.

Yeah, this may be a no-brainer. I bought a loaded 1992 BMW 325ic convertible from him for my wife back in 2000. Originally purchased in Beverly Hills and then transported to Miami. Had 26k on it and it was mint. Paid way less than market. Owned it for 10 years.

Friend bought a Land Rover.....same story.

Doing some comparison shopping on cars.com and the like, I believe it is a mid to high 40's car.

I researched all the option codes and was able to get those.

Color is Basalt Metallic Black.

So really just looking for people to tell me I'm crazy not to get it .

Pictures coming.

Sub 40k and he's easily leaving 10k plus on the table. He's either silly rich and doesn't care about taking a bath (very possible), or he's making you a deal you just can't refuse since you have a history with him. This car is probably a good deal at sub 50k, and is a steal at sub 40k.

I have an 04 TT cab with more owners and miles and there is zero chance I would sell at anywhere near this price.

Yes agree at sub 40 he's getting a big favor/deal as this car is not one of the well worn 100k beaters that have been the talk lately. The bottom line is you get what you pay for and yes chrome wheels and all this car is worth high 40s low 50s.

I think the price is good given its a tiptronic and a cab. If it were a manual coupe it should sell for 45k. Its nice that all of that service is being completed. Good luck and enjoy!

Totally. Any one of these cars with 100k miles or more should be crushed as they are only good to 90k miles.....

These cars as noted go well over 300k if treated well but I call them as I see them and a car with a 100k is a good everyday beater= that I have and have owned but never claim them to be anything but. EDIT wanted to add how many 2004 6spd coupes do you see with 25k miles for 45k, you don't the owners of these cars are their own worst enemies' when it comes to realistic price suggestion.

ReidN - there are plenty out there with over 100K miles, doing just fine, and I think someone on this forum has close to 300K miles. Not sure where you are coming from!

He was just being funny because he didn't like my opinion, which was just that an opinion. I get tired of owners in general suggesting low ball offers for increasingly rare clean examples of the 996tt and further more citing high mileage cars with low prices as setting a bar. I have two high mileage Audis now that I love= they look new and run great all due to that I take care of them and have spent way more than they are worth lol. That said they are worth next to nothing because of the high miles. Buying a car with complexities of the 996tt with high miles only makes sense if you can do your own work and like a challenge, they remind me of the Audi S4 b5tt a real headache if your not well versed.
