Awesome trip and congratulations! Sounds like you had an awesome time I've been wanting to get down to the Biltmore for Christmas, but have yet to do so. Worth the trip to do so?

The Christmas tour is worth it. They had a ton of Christmas trees and live music and all lit with candles so do it at night.

Enjoy! Oddly, mine was delivered into Nashville and made its way to Oklahoma City at some point. (Was consigned to RAC in Dallas a couple of years after they did the R550 conversion, and my friend here locally bought it.)

The hunt for a dream car is always an awesome experience. Especially when it culminates in finding the particular car, and driving it home over 3 days. Awesome, enjoy it!

The remark about Oklahoma reminded me of something that happened to me a while ago. It was August (hotter than hell) either 1979 or 1980, my wife, 2 year old daughter, and I were driving from WI to NM in a early 60's BMW 2002. The car dies in a toll both in Tulsa at 5PM - rush hour. In stead of getting mad, people helped push the car to the side of the road, the toll booth operator got a tow truck, the BMW dealership was called, and the service manager stayed until we got there. Car was put away, the service manager found us a hotel for the night, took us there. In the morning he picked us up. The shop put my car in first thing that morning, and we were back on the road by noon. This service was from people who knew I was passing through, and they were unlikely to get repeat business from me. I have never been treated so well, or met more hospitable people - and this was before I had the economic standing to expect service. Sorry for hi-jacking the thread.

Ya Skyline Drive.... did a Bike ride this summer, all new tarmac ...been sometime since I taken the Porsche up on Skyline but remember couldn't quite grinning while going up on the south entrance... what a ride! Loved the ride from 66 "The Plains" to" Middleburg VA"!
