Default Need a part #

I am trying to find the part number for the 3rd brake light rubber gasket/molding. I found it in a parts book but it looks like it is all one unit, can't that be bought separate?

Thanks!

Unfortunately they don't sell that gasket separately you have to buy a whole new third brake light or if you're very careful you can use an X-Acto knife and trim the rubber gasket you have now and it looks clean when you put it back.

I just replaced my third brake light this weekend. The gasket is sandwiched between the two halves of the sealed unit. Once it starts to deteriorate, the whole unit will fall apart eventually. That seems to be what happened to mine.

If you are handier than me, you might be able to patch it together somehow, but for $168 at Pelican, I just decided to replace it.

Mine had started to deteriorate as well, so I figured it would not hurt to trim the gasket off in the meantime while waiting for a new one. It ended up cleaning off really easily and looks good, if not better than original. I'd trim it and see what you think since it is already falling apart. You can always buy another light...
