Default Oil filler tube leak

Ive noticed a bit of oil 6 inches from the neck of my oil filler tube. Think its leaking a bit

Anyone had issues with theirs leaking... I think I'll change it myself, looks like its going to be pretty tight to get to the screws.

Anyone done this? Most of what i found searching was for the n/a 996 which has it at a different location

Can't recall ever reading about a Turbo oil filler tube leaking. There is always a first time for anything though.

But there are other possible sources for an oil leak in that general vicinity. Be very sure the tube is leaking.

I agree with Macster. The oil filler tube is not something that leaks but there is a first time for everything. Please be sure it the tube leaking before you do anything. If it is the tube then you will have remove quite a few things to get to the bolt holding it to the motor and be sure to replace the O ring.

Hmmm. Interesting. When I look online it def does for the boxster and normal 996 but I can see why ours shouldn't considering how high it is. I will take a closer look in proper light tomorrow. My engine bay is immaculate so a bit of sweating oil is really stressing me out. Definitely on the upper part of the tube where it changes from flexible to solid.
I hope it's not chipmunks or rats nibbling on my rubber parts. (Happened to my 84 supra back in the day)

if needing to be replaced, great time to do the GT3 filler neck/dipstick upgrade.

Check the o ring in the cap for the filler tube. Might be old and cracked and allowing oil to seep out down the filler tube making it look like the tube is the culprit.

Good call! I actually noticed that it wasn't too tight... That could be it.
