Default Black marks after a DE

OK, simple enough question that really relates to any car during a DE, but I happen to have a 996TT, so you're my guys.

Just finished my first DE. LOVED IT. But when I got home, I saw that my red paint had a bunch of black marks on it, which I can only imagine is the result of hitting rubber flotsum and jetsum while I was on the track.

I tried to use "bug and tar" remover, but to no avail. What is the best way of removing these?

Thanks guys. And BTW, I think that I'm addicted now to DEs. Been doing AutoX for 4 or 5 years, and this was my first DE. WHAT AN EXPERIENCE!!

Try some gas and then wax or try some light compound. I'm sure one of the track guys will share a trick.

sry its called RejeX. polymer coating, used instead of wax or polish. lasts longer and is a lot easier to do. I like it because I am lazy.

I've seen a number of paint sealants that are used instead of waxes. I can't use those because I put a clear bra on the entire front half of my car. full hood, full front bumper, rear bumper and two front fenders. Any of those sealants that I've seen are not compatible with 3M's clear bras.

So, I stick to wax. Not sure how the bra will react to gasoline being used on it. Boy, that's a scary option.

I have had great results using 3M General Purpose Adhesive Cleaner on paint.

On a clear bra I use Wurth Citrus Based Solvent Degreaser to remove tire smudges.

Cheers

Ah-chaaa. That's the ticket. Thanks. Now I just need to find a retailer that carries this.

Thanks, I'll try the Citrus Based Degreaser. I've just been concerned about how the bra would react to solvents.

Citrus degreaser is good stuff. Wd40 wouldn't be to harsh I would believe.

Try WD40 in a spot. You should have this in your garage already.

The 3M is too harsh on the bra. The Wurth product is great. I had to order mine directly from Wurth as I could not find it anywhere else. Just make sure you order the citrus based product. There are other similarly named Wurth products that are solvent/petroleum based.

Cheers
