Default 2005 Turbo S Cabrio Sockets

Can anyone tell me where are the 12V sockets in the 2005 Turbo S cabrio, US model? The user's manual says they should be in the passenger footwell and in the storage tray on the console between the seats. I cannot find one in either location. I would like to use the socket for a trickle charger, because, according to the manual, they remain live when the ignition is off and the key removed, while the cigarette lighter, according to the manual, is disconnected. Any thoughts on this?

I use the cigarette lighter spot on the dash in my '04 996 TT Cab for the charger. I was told Canadian delivered cars and US delivered cars are same specs.

Most people use cig lighter I doubt 2005 would be different but I guess they could have changed wiring. I use the cig lighter for battery tender on my 01.

My cigarette lighter is live when the car is off and I use it for the trickle charger on my 04 turbo cab.

Shumacher 1.5a w/pigtails on the bat term. The short cord has a flat connector on it that when unplugged for travel, tucks pefectly into the space next to the front headlight gap. Ran the wire right out the deck lid. This is an 05'.
