Well i finally bought a w/c 911 and moved into the 21st century !

Manual Coupe S , Black / black Original UK spec + factory short shift

52k miles Good history & PPI . Drove 400 miles home with no issues and more than satisfied
with the all round performance . No plans to change anything significant for the time being .
Not as characterful on short runs as my previous a/c cars , but i plan to use this one a lot more .
Only gripe is that road noise is a bit high on motorways for a car so well equipped with Bose etc .
Overall , what a great car for the money as you all know .

Road noise is there, but sometimes it gets more noticeable by the type of tire, and definitely does with certain type of road surfaces.

Yes, welcome aboard.

I have noticed with mine that road noise varies with type of tire and age of tire. Maybe your tires are getting old? Maybe try a different brand when current ones wear out?

Car has Michelin PS2 on the rear dated 2013 & PS3 on the front dated 2011 , plenty tread left .
The fronts are not N rated and the road noise seems more on the front .
I looked into N ratings and noise seems to be an important component ..

Something else , i found option 199 listed - battery disconnect - but cant see anything
Near the battery ?

Only thing I could find pertained to a 997 and stated you could disconnect battery via a remote switch in drivers compartment? I'm sure someone will add good info. The tires should all be n rated as far I know, are the tires worn?

Just speaking with a Cayman owner with the same option . He found that it
Was only installed until delivery , then removed and sent back to Porsche .
Standard practice .

I read that also but couldn't figure why they would list it as an option?
