Service for 996 Turbo
I recently moved to Cheyenne, WY but can easily drive to Ft. Collins, CO. Where should I get my 2001 Porsche Turbo serviced?
Also, though I've kept the car totally stock, I'm considering new shocks for a softer ride. Any suggestions for a shop that can do this? I want only the best.

Don't know anyone in Ft. Collins, but if you get to south Denver, Stevinson imports is the best Dealer (get Chance to do the work). Not sure what you mean by softer....it is a sports car and you want to feel the road with 400 hp under you. What tires are you running? As far as shocks go, I would look into PSS10s as a good all around coil over with better than stock ride.

Drive a little further to Arvada CO and go to 3zero3 motorsports. I've been taking my car there for a while and service is top notch. They are also good at working with you and giving advice on whatever mods you want to do.

Plus 1. What Drew959 said. It is not that hard a car to service. A set of ramps and a basic tool kit plus a few extra wrenches and you can handle virtually every scheduled service interval. You will save a ton of money. Plus, when you service you car, you become very familiar with everything. You will see very minor changes and differences. That helps prevent catastrophic failure. I pride myself in never having to take any of my 5 (currently) vehicles to a dealer for service. Or repair for that matter. Invest in a Durametric and you are solid. JMHO

For servicing I can't help you but for the ride, check the tire pressures. The inflation pressures on the back of the gas tank filler lid are for a fully loaded vehicle and produce a harsh/jarring ride if used.
I run 2 to 3 psi lower pressures all around and the ride is better. Still not limo smooth though. The car is stiffly sprung and the 18" wheels/tires don't help.
