$860 for an alternator!!! Even a Bosch oem one is like $500! BUT you can get them for $160-$350... Genuine Porsche one is $1865!!!! Porsche tax is huge on this part!

I do it myself for less than $200

However, I already have my pressure washer, a huge selection of shampoos, leather cleaners, leather conditioners, and ceramic friendly products for my toy! I also installed the PCCM PLUS and totally adore it! A game changer! Not sure if I will have nonstandard, aftermarket modifications to the car. My fear is imbalancing what Porsche felt was perfect at the time, and affecting the sale value of the vehicle. It is in perfect condition w only 26K miles. I had the 40,000 mile service done to make sure all fluids were topped and new. Thanks again for showing me different options. I realize how much cheaper it could be.

I am also a very busy physician! Priorities are different for everyone. Mine are Skydiving and scuba-diving. ALTHOUGH I am NOT one to spend all that time cleaning my car. THAT I have someone come and do!! However I LOVE working on my cars and find it challenging and relaxing.

Replaced the voltage regulator with HUCO #130570..alternative to the Bosch F00M145350, F00M144136, etc etc...there are MANY part numbers we can use...cheap and easy fix.
Tech tip: Sometimes the alternator can be hard to slide back onto its engine perch, if so, try pulling the steel bushing-threaded mounting point out a bit to provide more clearance, it will 'tighten' itself back to proper clearance when back on the perch and torqued.
Have attached pictures(sorry for crappy cell pics) of complete alternator back, with regulator removed, and new vs old regulators.

VR was changed on mine right when I got it, voltage improved immediately - cheap test to see how the alternator is running.
