Buy new from amazon etc where ever the best price can be found from reputable vender. I have tried refurbished on Audis, Porsche and and others they have never lasted as long as new= just my experience.

i've never had one last to it's full life potential since when i peg the limiter? i tend not to be watching the tach, but rather what is rapidly approaching me ahead lol. but i see no reason the 47 $ maf wouldn't last equally as long as the oem bosch. i have inspected them both up close and personal, they appear to be the very same diode! albeit the bosch housing was once ( presumably?? ) "used". all else is PLASTIC HOUSING and a BOSCH BOX with shiny brown wax paper lol
i think of it like a refurbished toner cartridge. they dont work as well ALWAYS? but when they do, they are within a reasonable range of "similar", in terms of performance.
just sharing my experience

I think Kevin sells the correct MAFs at a discounted price.

i bet the new bosch maf is equally prone to the voltage spikes that have been known throughout the porsche turbo community to "fry" mafs. why wouldn't they be?
tony at epl once wrote about it in here or 6spd? if that helps to eliminate "conjecture" from the equation? as to the propensity of a tuned higher hp turbo to fry the stock maf, particularly if the rev limiter has been raised. i just don't see how a new bosch vs the ebay one would make any difference under those conditions.
