Wanted: Porsche 996 turbo ('03-'05)
I'm looking for a 2003-2005 (2003 with factory PCM) Porsche 911 turbo coupe with a 6 speed manual transmission. I'm open to all color combinations, but I would prefer white, silver, gray, or black. I'd prefer one with less than 60k miles and within $50k. Ideally in Southern California. I'm a serious buyer with cash in hand. Thanks!

I had 2nd gear popout on my '03. It's been repaired under warranty by Porsche.
It also is a X50 model. So reports that the X50 and/or 03 cars are immune from 2nd gear pop out are inaccurate.
Only way to tell if the car has the popout is to drive it down a steep hill in 2nd gear under compression. Year, mileage or option on the car (X50) mean nothing.

I don't know how much it costs, but one of the partners at Saltwater Restaurant in Inverness, CA has an '05 TT S for sale -- black coupe. Only 16K miles on it.
I know this because I was eating there last night with my wife, when he came by and said, "Nice Turbo" and we started talking cars. He's the second owner and it's full of options. Bought it from a guy in Novato, CA, so you know there's no salt wounds on the undercarriage. He's also got a Lotus, and he's trying to streamline his car collection.
The number to the restaurant is (415) 669-1244. I forgot the owner's name. The other partner is Luc Chamberlain, and would know who I'm talking about. Might be worth a call.

Sorry for the thread jack. I'm considering a 996t if that helps.

- Saltwater -- good oysters, seafood and varied grub. Chef is pretty adventurous. Good owners.
- Osteria Stellina. Solid food, good organic cooking, Italian slant on food. Menu doesn't change that frequently, though. Great mgmt.
- Sir and Star -- Mankas' old owners before it burned down. Very nice food, a bit 'stuffy' for West Marin, but don't let that put you off. When you get to know them, the individuals are pretty cool.
- Nick's Cove in Marshall. My wife met and had drinks with Lady Gaga and her boyfriend there about 15 months ago (initially didn't know who she was). Good food, nice wine list. Good drive against Tomales Bay.
In general, since Pt Reyes is the organic food epicenter of California, and thus, the free world ;-), you'll find local ingredients and folks who care about what you put in your mouth, and to be honest, it's done in an unpretentious way. It's not a novelty in Pt Reyes -- it's standard operating procedure.
Absolutely, a sportier car would have been fun. I discovered that area when I was learning to ride my '83 BMW R100S years ago.
Bon Appetite, and enjoy West Marin!

I have kicked around selling our 2005 X50 Black Cabrio/ Saddle interior, 6 Speed with 22,000 miles. So Cal car its entire life. It is in like new shape, all maintenance only mods are bad *** 3 piece Zone 19 wheels, UMW tune and Milltek quiet exhaust. I would not part with it for less then $65k. Has every conceivable option except PCCB. If interested email me at; donjohnson567@gmail.com

I prefer the newer car with the MOST system.
Thanks, but I'm not interested in cabriolets.
