996 Turbo RMS: The end....
The car is finished.
Actually the car was finished the other day and I picked it up and gave it a shakedown drive. Everything feels ok. Dare I say the clutch feels a bit smoother to operate? Sure probably my imagination but maybe some fresh grease and some grease on that dry ball socket in the clutch arm did some good?
Anyhow, someone asked me for the breakdown in cost. Here it is:
Labor: $1493.98 (at $150/hour almost 10 hours labor).
Cheese head screw (9): $30.24 ("cheese" head? Not in a Turbo surely?)
Socket screw (9): $32.58
Needle bearing: $7.18 (has different part # than one below)
Needle bearing: $7.18 (has different part # than one above)
Rubber oil seal (RMS!): $34.74 (999-113-426-41 if anyone's interested)
Brake cleaner (2 cans): $9.10
Sales tax: $10.89
Total: $1625.89
BTW, all part numbers started with "999".
Oh, I checked the left rear tire and the plug is holding air very well thank you. Tire pressure was at 40psi as was the right rear.
