My car is a 996tt coupe. Not an EDC, but set up extremely well for the track with a rollbar, harness et al. My wife's EDC is a 997.2 C2S coupe. It is the first car in a long time that she truly enjoys driving. We both drive regularly in PCA DE events. From my perspective, there is nothing like the turbo. The power was simply addictive at first, but I am learning to manage it and I really enjoy my time on the track. My wife is very happy with the power and handling of the C2S, and also loves the way it handles on the track. Both cars are very competent on the highway and on the track, so there is a whole lot that depends on what you like. I can't imagine giving up the boost and dominance of the turbo. Your only real issue is figuring out how you are going to buy both!

I went for Turbo over a C4S because of the IMS problems with the C4S. You might save 10k on the purchase price now but an IMS failure could cost you $$$$$$$$ and there is almost no way to tell if IMS bearing failure is imminent.

I thought we agreed not to scare people (and ourselves) about IMSBs anymore?

Thanks guys, the C4S's I've looked at have all had the LNE IMS 'upgrade'.

How about a Cabrio as a DD up here in the NorthWest? I will have the hard top installed for the really bad months (Nov to April).

Yes; real nice control of the power slide-doughnut.
