Default WeatherTech Floormats & Bose Sound

We have a set of WeatherTech mats in my wife's BMW 330i, and i think they are great. I wanted a set for the 996TT but the WeatherTech website only offers them to fit 996 models without the Bose sound system. I called WeatherTech's 1-800 number and confirmed with a salesperson that the floormats will not work for 911's with the bose system, as the Bose system necessitates a slight difference in the shape/size of the mats. I looked at floor mats on the Pelican site, i also found >2002-04 996 Turbo, Targa, and Cabriolet variants with the Bose system do require different mats.

What's different about the Bose equippeed cars with regard to the floor mats? I do not notice any Bose components occupying space on the floor.

Not sure about the 996 but i have the weather tech mats in my 997 with Bose system and they fit fine. I was told when i bought mine the difference is the rear floor mats and that the fronts are the same.

Not sure why the Bose system would change the profile of the floor mats? The Speakers are mounted in the lower door panels quit aways up form the floor.. Even so the premium sound system and the bose use the same profile speaker grill.

I wondered if it was something with the rear mats. Looking at pictures on their website, it appears the front mats look the same shape as what is in the car now. If that's the case, I would just buy the front mats. Let's face it, nobody is sitting in those rear seats anyway.

I'm just looking for someone to confirm, "Yes I have them in a car with Bose, and they fit fine."

The sub on the Bose is on the passenger side of the center tunnel. It juts out a bit into the passenger side footwell from the non-Bose version.

I bought some weathertech mats for my 996tt.

The passenger one is for the 997 and will not fit the 996 fyi!

Be careful the website says that it will "most likely fit" but it does not!

The sub is on the passenger's side of the forward tunnel only on a Cab.

The 996 mats should fit a 996 Turbo Coupe....but not a 996 Turbo Cab.

Sorry to bring up an old thread, but are you saying you had to buy one 996 mat and one 997 mat.

Anyone else have more recent experience with Weathertech Mats in a 996 Turbo coupe?

I'm a Weathertech dealer even though I don't have them on the website. They don't make the DigitalFit mats for the 996, but have their rubber mats for the 996.

Do they make rear mats? I have front ones already.

How well do the front ones fit? That's all I'm looking for.

My heavy ribbed rubber mats fit in my 2003 C2 Cab and the same ones fit in my 2004TT Cab, perfectly, both with Bose.
Attached is a pic with the mats in the 03.
