Reverse light switch on tiptronic trans?
I searched here and Renntech and no one seems to know where the switch is.
Anybody know?

I've just had this fixed on my car so will record the info for others. The reverse light switch on tiptronics is under the lever. This is different to the position for the manual gearbox switch. The part number is 996.613.212.19. Cost is approximately USD 230.

I think there is a typo in your part number. It should be 996.613.212.10 (not 996.613.212.19)
I am basing this on the fact that the .19 number doesn't come up in search and reading the number on the picture of the part. Probably a finger slip.

To get to the switch does the center console have to be removed? Or can you get to it by just removing the console shifter insert with the drive positions printed on it?

I had the same issue but you likely don't have to replace the whole switch!!!
I pulled the switch out and opened it up. Very simple set-up much like a relay. The contact points were carbon covered. Cleaned them up with a little sand paper, check for continuity, re-bent the contacts if needed and it has been good to go!

Here you go. I didn't straight replace the unit but took it apart. You leave it in neutral due to the locking pin...

I took my mfs apart and fixed it over the weekend. Pretty straight forward, but I learned two things:
1. First time through I put everything back together and got a "gear selector not engaged" error. When you reinstall, make sure you put something in the hole to hold it in the neutral location. I used a drill bit. Problem solved, no more error.
2. Plastic wears out.
When you shift from park to reverse, the white plastic piece hits the copper point. This presses the two contacts at the end of the pieces of copper together
And over time the plastic wears down (left side) to a level where it does not push the copper enough to cause a strong contact. End game is no reverse lights or passenger mirror movement!
