Won't installing the K24's require the new intercoolers as well? I thought the K24's had a larger outlet size than K16's

If you decide to retro it to the X50 specs....take a look around the for sale forums because there are a number of guys who are upgrading the larger intercoolers that come on the X50 and buying the BlownSix intercoolers as well as larger turbos....you might save some money as long as you're not overly anxious to get everything done. I see them periodically advertised here, on 6 Speed, and on eBay. The tranny is the same.

Here's a thought. Buy Kevin's 1 Bar flash tune, keep your original tune.....any warranty issues just flash the original tune back.

My recent ride in a standard K24 Porsche did nothing for me....too much lag. If I went K24's first stop would be Kevin's tune !!

harris- you are asking question of US based participants as to what Porsche of Greece will do to you warranty if you pay them to install upgrades!

There is no "X50 Kit". It is a new car order option. It cannot be purchased and added later.

If Porsche will do this in your country, great...but I doubt if anyone other that your dealer can answer that question.

(You can see that all the answers are aimed at all the other (better) ways to archive the same upgrade but via aftermarket... because you'll pay 3-4 TIMES as much to try and get a 'real porsche X50 kit', to save a warranty that is worth much less...)

Doesn't the X50 also have the steel synchros that the GT2s have? I would almost want the steel synchros if I had to choose over K24s for the reliability.

Unfortunately this myth has been busted by folks who have replaced the tranny. The X50 synchros are the same as the non=X50...

No you don't need a new ecu to flash to x50. But you would need Porsche to do it...I will be surprised if they will. Be sure to research tuners before you do this, costs etc. Also Kevin was my tuner and I reccomend him.

Sometimes you wonder if people actually read posts....

Harris, the X50 is an ORDER CODE.

It is not a kit that one adds to an already manufactured car.

If you somehow added all the parts to your car to DUPLICATE an X50 it would still be a regular turbo with mods- Porsche mods to be sure, but not an X50.

Adam...
I do read post for sure...
and we all understood that there is no X-50 retrofit kit....and it is an ORDER CODE.
I do understand that my car will be a regular turbo with _ porsche mods...FOR sure...definetelly not an X-50.

I am trying somehow to Upgrade my car without loosing my warranty...and one way of doing this is to DUPLICATE an X50 if it is possible, so that all the partz I will use on my car will be original porsche parts. (same thing would apply is someone would want to upgrade from 4 piston calipers to 6 piston calipers from GT3...- again original parts will be used i.e. valid warranty)

and my final question was if I need intercoolers as well together with the pair of K-24's as well and the installed by dealer if possible X-50 programme.

that is all.

your worry about if people are reading post should be expressed when other rennlisters replied by saying I should have a look to tuners....(which is something that would void my warranty and it is something that I stated from the beggining that I CANNOT do it)

thanks anyway for your input
