Post GT2 Allocation

The MY2002 and 2003 GT2 allocation for the U.S. was released today and here is how it goes

MY2002 - 104 units

MY2003 - 62 units

Not many being built at all.

Ouch ! That's half of what the dealers were expecting. Look for $250K aftermarket prices.

What ever happened the PAG statement at announcement that this would not be a limited production model like the GT3 and they would build as many as customers wanted? I guess they forgot to mention in what year this will occur.

Fred Schwab said that it wouldn't be a limited production vehicle at both the LA and Detroit Auto Shows. I already got a letter from Plaza Motors in St. Louis asking if I want my deposit back. They're going to sell the only car they get to the highest bidder. I was #6 on their list. I have MSRP written on my buyers order. If I was #1 on the list they would hear from my attorney.

Consider this.......if you cant get a 996TT GT2 buy a regular used 4 wheel drive 996TT and convert it to rear wheel drive, add the ceramic brakes, change out the exhaust, get a stage 1 upgrade from a reputable tuner, add GT3 seats and put on a front and rear spoilers and buy a GT2 emblem and baby you basically have a GT2. In Germany especially and sometimes in the USA tuners ditch the 4 wheel drive....cars have more personality are lighter and are faster and less complicated as a result. Nonetheless....unless youre super jaded....any 996TT shouldnt be too tough to suffer driving around daily!!!
