I have a center exhaust 997.2 Cup exhaust (it has small cats) on my 6GT3. I'll be heading to NCM next weekend, and I just saw that they have a 102.5 db limit. Does anyone know:

How loud a 997.1 Cup Car is at WOT?
Where the sound is measured at that NCM?

After they got shut down a couple of times NCM got pretty serious about noise violations. They measure at 3 different spots on the track now. I cancelled my plans to go there after they put noise restrictions in place. It's a shame because I know a few people who really like that place.

996 cup exhausts are rated at 103 and 110 depending on the version. I thought the 997 was actually a little more quiet but hopefully someone here can confirm to give you peace of mind.

i have a center cup exhaust - no cats. Depending on weather and track I've measured different readings.

Thunderhill has a 103 db limit, which I've passed on a clear day. Sears/Sonoma also has a 103 limit, but I registered a 107 there, but there are a lot of walls.

The other weekend I was out at Thunderhill I registered a 110 db with overcast.

Hmmm. Thanks for those numbers. I fashioned some diverter tail pipes that reduce the sound at idle from 95 to 91 db. side to side inside my garage. I measured at WOT when I was at the dyno and measured 102 inside, but I don't know how accurate my iphone ap is.

I guess I'll find out!
