Default LSD Upgrade time

OK - going through old threads does my head in.........

My LSD is on the way out, so;

1) Guards?
2) OS Giken?
3) or something else.

The car is stock except for track geo and tractive/DSC suspension package.

The car is used 80% for club track days and 20% road.

Any experience, what would you recommend and why.

Thanks in advance - Paul

I have the cup unit in my car, they don't wear out as quickly as the stocker and I believe they are adjustable to an extent. Guard is probably just as good and should work out cheaper than the Porsche Motorsport unit as you can rebuild your existing diff. Mine was $3500 AUD

I had mine done over the winter with Guard internals. Runs around US $1,700-$2,000 with parts and labor.

Copans builds it his way, mixture of parts from multiple sources.

I had mine 996 done with only 6k miles on it. Once rebuilt with Guard internals, it was day n night difference. Just my .02 from someone who's always driven a 911 with an LSD on the track

I hope he's not putting my clutches against factory steel plates, because my stuff will cut those like they are butter.

I spent ~ $1100 on a rebuild kit from Guards.
Did the labor myself.

Has worked great for 7k miles.

First I put in Motorsport pucks. They lasted for 8k miles. Guards internals much better.
