Default Changing engine mounts

Hi, considering a set of semi solid mounts, how easy are they to change ? Is it a shop job or could I do it? I have a lift and good set of tools.....

If you have a lift I assume you know your way around a car. If so, it should be a no brainer.

What they said. Don't even need the lift.

Support the engine with a jack then 3 bolts on each side.

30 min with a beer break in the middle.

Excellent, thanks...

Is there a recommended set in particular?

Because I over-simplified my response earlier as I was on my mobile device...I'll add a little more detail.

the 3 bolts per side...there are 2 13mm bolts on the top of each mount and then from the bottom you will need to remove the nut from the stud that passes through the chassis. It's either an 18 or 19mm bolt on the bottom and you'll need a deep sell socket for that nut.

It's going to be easier on the top if you remove the airbox which won't add much time at all and is well worth the effort of taking out for the extra access it provides.

I had Wevo mounts on my old C2. Still have stock mounts in the GT3.

Wevo and RSS are two I would look at.

I put in rennline solid mounts with a hd trans mount.

add in the cup cables to that and Makes it perfect for not having to listen the wife complain about taking the gt3. But my 8 year old absolutely loves it, doubles as a school bus!

chose version your comfortable with.

Yes, it is pretty easy to do since I was able to fix mine. See my posts for more of the details. I have some pictures.

If you want a stiffer mount but are looking for a factory look we offer the Genuine Porsche RS mount kit as an option:

Use a longer through bolt with these and you can lower the engine a little more without having to support it.

Just my opinion but I went with RSS after having the 964 part number RS mounts and much prefer the RSS.

I suggest changing the tranny mt if you do the engine mts.
I used Tarret green sport.
