Default 996 GT3 cover

Has anyone tried the OEM 996 GT3 car cover from Porsche? Would be interested to know what the quality is like and whether or not it has the Porsche crest on the front.

Best,

Best,
I use them on my cars. If you run RS wing on your gt3 you must order 996cup cover.

I had wondered about that! Do Porsche also make an outdoor cover?

Actually don't know, I wouldn't think so. Not a lot of cup cars sitting outside over night.
I have a cheap no brand outdoor cover for my track car if it sits outside over night during track weekends.

I can find the OEM outdoor 997 but I haven't seen the 991. I'm sure Porsche makes one. Link to 997 so you can get an idea http://shop3.porsche.com/usa/car/911...7-outdoor.pdds

Looks great - I will go for the OEM.

I have an outdoor cover, I would not recommend it. What happens is that wind blows around dirt and grit and it gets under the cover. Then it leaves small scratches in the clearcoat. Nothing that a good detail can't fix, but not good in my experience.

While I garage my Porsches I do not cover them ever based on this experience.

I have the OEM indoor cover with the crest on the front for my stock '04 GT3 and really like it. It came with the car from the previous owner. Without firsthand experience I probably would not have spent the premium for the cover, but now that I've used it for a couple years I am a believer. It's a high quality product that's a pleasure to use.

i ordered the 996 GT3 cover from SUncoast and it says (fairly small and way down at the very bottom in front) GT2. It fits perfectly though, and if it weren't on the top part of the lift, you'd never know... its PN 000.044.000.57 (for 996 gt2)

I bought the Covercraft Custom Fit Car Cover for Porsche 911 (Technalon Evolution Fabric, Gray) from Amazon...

It's an outdoor cover (the parking garage is above ground and exposed to a lot of dust and elements) but its a good fit:

Attachment 1355249

Attachment 1355250

Keeps dust off the car for the most part...
