WTB: 315 or 305 Nitto NT-01
#16
Not trying to overthink this, but want to make sure there will be no rubbing issues considering the additional sidewall represents about 1/2 inch into the fender as measured from the hub (vertically).
I am running stock ET, 11 inch BBS E88s.
I guess I'll benefit from 5mm approx. extra clearance per side which would help.
Thoughts?
Cheers
Matt

Getting ready to buy new track tires, based on what I have read I am going to go with Nitto NT01 size rear 305 30 18 and 235 45 18 front.
Wheels are Ray's Engineering front 18 x 8-1/2 offset +49. And Rear 18 x 11 offset +60.
Nitto's are 25.39" and 26.42" F/R. Will I have any issues with fitment on the rear as these are 1.5" taller than the 295 30's that are on the rims now. I can always adjust ride ht but would rather not. My rear ride height is 130 mm now.
Thanks.

I think if you start to really decrease the ride height of the car you may run into issue, but you're actually 2mm higher than stock based on the height you gave which should mean no issues at all.
The join of the fender and the bumper is where it starts to get tight with taller tires. There's also a crease in the fender well that could be an issue but you'd have to be really really low to have that come into play. Look at 996 cup's next time you see one in person they run a 680 rear tire which is 26.7" tall. I'm sure they don't mind "finessing" stuff to make things work but the bottom line is they all run them without any problem.

I am running 125mm rear ride height with 315's. I needed to fold over the seam in the wheel well and machine one side of my previously round shock mount to stop ruining tires :-)
Andy, did you ever get your tires?

I did find a couple of scrubs locally that are mounted and ready to go for this weekend. I hadn't found any before the last track day I attended and drove around on a cold morning on old hard compound slicks that I couldn't get any heat into and never stuck.

@Matt Lane and Powdrhound, regarding 305 vs 315, don't forget how that effects acceleration and gearing. Powdrhound, I think you've posted you have 5-600hp so no problem there. Stock Gt3 probably still likes the taller tire. But if Matt lane is inquiring for the 993 in his avatar the 315 is likely the better choice IMHO.

I have a similar set of the Rays SL in 9 X 11 that I am going to try on the 3.
I've done a test fit with 245 / 315 and did not see any issues at stock ride height.

First set of NT 01's come this week, getting ready for Road Atlanta in a couple of weeks. Couple of Questions
1. Regarding heat cycling prior. Do these tires benefit from a heat cycle and rest period prior to extended use. I have read where Hoosiers R1's benefit from that, but nothing regarding the Nitto tire.
I could mount and give them a good drive on the country roads, any benefit to the tires.
2. Tire Pressures: What is your experience on hot tire temperature / range? And minimum cold temperatures? EDIT: I see Powderhound posted Thius:
.

Ideal hot pressure is 32/33 with the 245/305. I start at 25/26 cold
