Hmm... I think the 997 version might be the way to go.. simply for the cost reason!!

Any more issues with wheel / tire interference vs the 996 version?
No clearance issues even at full lock with 18x9 wheels...

How much front camber do you have? Plates flipped?

I have 255 Hoosiers on +40 wheels with -3.8 up front and I can only go 1 full turn on the steering wheel before the tire hits the upper duct.

I have -3.4 camber, plates are NOT flipped. I'm pretty sure if they were flipped clearance would be an issue as the whole wheel assembly would be located further into the wheel well.

I run either 245/40/18 NT01s or V710s. The V710s are very tall at 25.7" and wide due to their square design. Both clear at full lock but I think I removed a little bit of the material at the curved upper part of the duct (where it curves into the wheel towards the brake rotor) to give it more room between the wheel and duct. Tire clearance was not an issue. My wheels are 18x9 +47

So the 997 version sticks out more compared to the 996 version?

I do have the top hat rotated with -3.2 degree up front.

I guess it is not a big deal if I have to trim the plastic a little bit.

I am not a fan of rotating the top to get more camber has as you effectively reduce width of the front track. I prefer keep the top hats standard and instead shim out the LCAs to get the desired camber. With that said, yes, the 997 versions are made of a fairly pliable plastic that is easy to trim.

If a 987 is what a 2012 Caymen R is, then yes. A friend installed these in conjunction with 997GT3 front fender liners and was pretty much a direct bolt on with very minor modding.

Agree with the track width comment, although that's exactly why people rotate the top hat, no? So you can clear the fender.. (as well as bringing the caster back to the range)

I'd think if we run wider fender (like those offered by Getty) or fender extension (think Ruf / Cargraphic), then the clearance isn't an issue, and wider is better!

I adjust caster via adjustable thrust arm bushings. I can get close to -4.0 camber with the upper mounts in the stock position simply by shimming the LCAs which are longer than stock due to the 997Cup monoball ends. No issue with fender clearance although it's very tight.

I had the same issue on my car in the OEM left front clips broke and I had to replace the part. I found an OEM part on ebay and it was over $100 in really good shape. The retail cost for a new one was around $250 for one side. I put zip ties on the part so it does not fall off. Probably better purchasing the 997 part for a fraction of the cost.
