GT3 Motor mounts

This gives the engine pleanty of opportunity to rock back and forth as you transition from one sweeper to the other. One thing you really don't need is 500 lbs shifting around behind you in this type of situation. So as others have stated, if you might have issues, this is where it will show up, a really good test.

As far as I could tell the motor mount P/N's used in all the '04 996's are the same. If you look at the pet the P/N's are supposedly different. Not sure what all that means, but my GT3 had the same P/N mounts as my friends C2. I have heard some discussion about different color paint being applied to indicate differences, don't know anything about that. Mine had just a yellow sticker with a production date on it. If there might be any question as to which ones are in a car it's pretty easy to tell, just open the deck and look, they are right there and easy to see P/N's.
Oh, and Ed, I apologise for insulting your sensibilities. What I meant by the comment relative to speed in the esses was relative to max speed attained. Not speed maintained "through" them. I am able to do about 140 before the bus stop and was not by any means the fastest car there, so guessed 150 or better, would not be out of the question for some. No smoke here, just a comment. Lighten up.

Reviving an old thread through the search feature! Who says no one uses it…
I’m planning on putting in new motor mounts on my 60K mile car. It will see 85% daily driver and 15% track time. Which motor mounts are the current recommended version? Also, if it matters I’m going to change the trans mount with the 997 version from Suncoast. As I see it I have four motor mount options:
993-375-049-08 Carrera / 4 - $91.50 each from Pelican Parts
993-375-049-08 Turbo - $92.00 each from Pelican Parts
964-375-043-81 Euro RS Mounts - $185.25 plus the new bolts and washers – Pelican Parts
Wevo mounts – $198.75 direct from Wevo
Thoughts?

Ouch, just totaled up the washers / bolts for the RS mounts and it adds about $100 to the cost.

Hey John can the rubber insert inside the Rs mount replaceable and can be bought separately? Rennline has a nice semi solid mount and the rubber insert is replaceable. Costs abit more- I think it's $400 but looks nice. I have RS mounts on mine- no problema on the street. Mike

Interesting discussion. I have the Wevo mounts in my car. I probably got them too early when I was learning the car to know the difference from the stock mounts.
As for the Glen, the biggest confidence booster for me was the RS Wing. It really make the car feel more planted/stable going up the esses. The speedo looks like 150+ but the Traqmate tells the real story. I know I am not at 150 and the wing at 8 degrees and my ability do slow down the terminal top speed.
At the end of the day, the wing, spliter, mounts, etc aid in the mechnical process but it takes a lot of confidence to actually lower lap times.

Wevo, though I suspect RS are just as good, however you can change the bushes in the Wevo if they wear, or want another stiffness.
Plus Wevo's are very light and look half decent.

I checked with Wevo, no tranny mount for Gt3. Erik@Gbox and torque solution do make the mount.
No one makes bushing replacement! There is DIY filling the gaps with urethane. Cheap way to make the mount stiffer.

Thanks MTB - what are you running on your (appears to be RS cloned) 996GT3? I understood wevo made the replacement bushings. I also understand some further down the slippery slope people run the 964/993 RS mounts which are semi solid and lighter ... But need longer bolts.
