Default Quick tire question

I have a '99 c2 with stock 17" rims, but purchased a set of 18" (18x7.5 et50 and 18x10 et65).

From the searching I've done the stock rear tire size is: 285/30R 18, but some are saying a 265/35R 18 might be a better choice. I only plan on street driving, no track. What are your thoughts?

265/35 is the stock size on a 996.1; 285/30 is the stock size on the 996.2

On my 996.1 I went with 265/35 ... seemed like plenty of tire for a street car.

The standard front for a 996 mk2 is: 8 et 50 tyre size 225 40 ZR18

Not sure what style rims you have though?

If you have 10" et50 rear then I would go 285 as that's the standard size for that rim.

I have the stock 18" option turbo twist wheels for a 996.1. I got them with a used set of tires so I want to replace them.

Both 265 and 285s are options. I'd go 285 or if you want to stay true as mentioned above 265 for mk1 and 285 for mk2.

265 is the stock size, so for street driving should be the best choice, not rub, and cost less. Win win win.
