My wheels have a few spots where the clear coat is peeling and getting new wheels is not in the budget. So I decided to repaint them. Just did the one done so far

Easy to take apart. I looked up the other threads about refinishing the wheels. I used Rustoleum wheel paint color is Graphite. it is a little darker than the Duplicolor/VHT. I used VHT Black, satin on the bolts.

What sort of prep did you have to do on the center console? Did you strip the existing "soft touch" finish? What type of stripper did you use? Did you run into any problems? Any special additives for the finish paint? How did the final finish come out? Did you clear-coat it after the color coat? How much paint did you use?
I know, a lot of questions, but I'm looking to do mine as well, and I figure you can save me some headaches

I used Color Bond on my center console......all the paint is matched OEM on the website....it was easy I spent 75.00

Thanks Rick. What website ? "It was easy"...specifics please. I know it's "easy", I've done quite a bit of paint work. When it comes to painting, anyone who's done it knows that it's all about prep- what did u do to prep your console ? Thanks again

The one tip I have for removing the center console would be to move the passenger seat forward and lay the back of the seat all the way down onto the rear seat. this will allow you to get the console over the top of the emergency brake handle without scratching it

I used color match from paintscratch.com and a couple coats of clearcoat. I bought a center console that did not have the soft touch paint on it so it would be easier. The ashtray delete was soft touch I used some 80 grit to get most of it off then went to 150 then 320 to finish.

I have the same wheels as a spare set. They could use a little TLC. Do you know how close the lighter shade of Rustoleum wheel paint is to the original?
