Default Oil leak question

Last Sept I got the signs of an RMS or IMS seal leak. The usual 2-3 drops on garage floor after each drive. That lasted about 3 months. For the last 3 months I have not had a drop and the area between engine and tranny is dry.

The leak started just as I was draining 0w-40 Redline oil.

Since then I have used Motul 5w40 8100 x cess.

Has anyone had a leak like this disappear? Any ideas why it stopped?

Yup, I had the same thing. I think sometimes the rubber seals seal themselves and these issues resolve themselves. If it gets a lot worse, then I would take it in.

Thanks, I am also going to stick with the oil I am currently using as all is good at the moment.

In fact, it makes me hesitate to replace the RMS as the new one might leak. hmmm?
If it was the IMS seal than I would replace that seal even if it stopped leaking. Of course, that would happen anyway as I would be putting in a new IMS bearing.
