C4S with PSE but want more burbles!
Hi fellow Porsche fans!
Hope you are well. I have a 2004 c4s with pse which I do love but i was wondering if there was anything i could modify to get more burble sounds and rumble on throttle lift off? I just purchases the schnell red hose but i doubt that will add much to the burbles.
thanks much!

the "burbles" come from ECU tuning.... I assume you are trying to get the sound of the cayman GTS when it lets off the throttle?
-I have Aftermarket High Flow cats and mufflers and I only get about 1-2 burble when I let off.

Ecu tuning?
Thank you. Do you have any suggestions to which type of ecu tuning to get those nice burbles?
Did the cats make a big difference with increasing exhaust sound for you?
thanks!

Get on the recent group buy post for 200 cell cats. You wont get much more burble but the PSE with 200 cell cats makes very racey exhaust note with no drone.

It took 2 hours in a garage to swap both my and my best friends midpipes out..... we only have emissions every two years in Colorado and we spend 4 hours every two years to swap back to stock and pass emissions and put the cats or catless x pipe back on... not a big deal in the grand scheme of things really.
*also to note, burbbles come from the ECU running the car "rich" which can actually rob you of horsepower. It isn't worth loosing horsepower to have a few crackles and burbles. Most sports car companies are mastering the art of "burbles" from the factory right now, but those cars are also running rich (However, the sports car world is actually demanding burbbles like yourself)
- Ford Focus RS
-Jaguar F-type
-Cayman GTS
-ECT....

My friend is running the very exotic, high end IPE full exhaust system with catless X pipe.
I am running aftermarket 200 Cell High flow cats (but not the X pipe design)
We both get a few burbles when letting off the gas, However prior to IPE he had PSE with my 200 cell high flow cats and his car did not burble. IT was quite a bit louder than just PSE and sounded fantastic. The burbbles just were not there.
I would highly recommend for sound you adding an aftermarket X pipe to your PSE. You will drool over the sound.
