Check the part number under the lid on the inside passenger side underside surface. You may be surprised to find out that it does fit. The wing here looks exactly the same as mine which does fit on my 99. My part number is 996.552.901.02
I beg to differ on that, I am running the very same deck lid on my 99 and it is also a true gt3 deck lid,but I am using a different cold air intake also and it works just fine.

Correct, GT3 won't fit with stock airbox. You can use the GT3 lid from a MK1 or MK2 if you dont use the stock airbox.
I have a true GT3 tail on mine also, simply had to remove the fresh air intake snorkle and install the harness upgrade. airbox section fits fine. (i actually just modified my snorkle to fit)
