The Rennline pedals are excellent.

I believe mine has Porsche aluminum pedals. They came with the car, not sure if they were installed from the factory or added after the fact. They say Porsche and have rubber nubs on them. They're awesome.

It might be a nice cosmetic choice but it has zero practical value. As far as bang for the buck they are right up their with carbon fiber radio trim.

This is simply false. You get much less slip of the pedal on the soles of your shoes for the rubber nubs. So much grip in fact that you have to be careful when wearing very soft soled sneakers as they will grip too much sometimes. To add, you can also order them with the toe extensions that make blipping the throttle much easier with your braking foot for rev matching. The aluminum pedals are quite a functional improvement over stock pedals for grip and versatility.

I got some aluminum pedals with the rubber nibs from EBay about 6 years ago. Shipped from China, I believe. They have held up great. It didn't make sense to me to pay a premium for something that's always at least 5 feet away from me, and that I put my shoes all over on a daily basis.

I had Ultimate Aluminum pedals in my Z06. Very pleased and ordered them based on a GT3 owner's recommendation.

No affiliation - just satisfied customer, especially when they worked closely with me to get screw placement just right for installation.

Had Rennline pedals (came with the car installed by first owner) in my Cayman R. Also very happy with them. Ultimate pedals were more grippy due to cross-hatch pattern I chose, but the Rennline also worked fine. Rennline extension was only the bottom half of pedal. I chose the full extension on the Ultimate Pedal.

In both cases I had the throttle extension to facilitate easier heel/toe shifting. Car pedals seem to be designed for larger (male) feet, and my feet couldn't easily span the distance without very uncomfortable ankle position. The extended pedal worked great!

I used to always install Vostek pedals in my 911s, but they are no longer around. I went Rennline on the 996 and am happy with them. I do feel the machined cross hatch pattern of Ultimate pedals gives more grip particularly if your soles are damp or wet. I removed the Rennline accelerator pedal cover, as it brought the pedal surface too far forward, and on very hard "panic" braking I sometimes caught the accelerator pedal and inadvertently gave gas while trying to brake. Not good. Now only the brake and clutch pedals are alloy. The heel and toe distance seems better now, very easy and natural and no accidental gas when braking.

Here are mine. A bit dirty at the moment and bad lighting because I'm doing the front brakes.

Like I said, the fit and finish is top notch - they're great. Only drawback is they become uncomfortable when driving barefooted (in the summer when I wear sandals I always kick them off to drive).

Oh, and that mystery red switch? I haven't 100% confirmed, but I believe its on/off for the hard wired radar detector line the previous owner had installed through the dash.

I bought my car with RUF pedals installed. In my opinion, they are a small upgrade that really sports up the interior of the car. That, and they feel so good. They look almost identical to the Porsche ones and I highly recommend either.
