Depending on your state these cars vary greatly in pricing. Colorado seems to be pricey with the 996's in general. I could go to AZ, CA or Texas and pick one up for cheaper in general.

Example.... A 2003 C2 with 70,000 miles goes for around $24k here. Mine was listed at $23,995 and I got it for $22,000 out the door.

General Notes: 2-owner, dealer-serviced, looked good and had decent service history so I bought it. It had 2 bent wheels but I sold $2k worth of the useless stereo equipment in it to finance a new set of wheels. Has survived 10 track days so far unscathed. If it blows up, oh well; I got to drive a Porsche 911 at several of our country's finest road courses, and drive it to work and on errands many days in between. Money well spent.

Service History/Manuals (Complete, Partial, None): Carfax history with Porsche dealership in SoCal from 2005 & extended warranty coverage through my purchase date. I have receipts since early 2016 of Solution work that included engine out refresh of hardware, seals & hoses that needed replacement. New tires & AOS in June of 2016, coil packs, spark plugs, coolant line, engine mounts in Feb 2017, 5 oil changes in my 11,000 miles of ownership and now running DT40. UOAs going to start soon.
Condition of vehicle: Mechanically A, Cosmetically A interior & B exterior. Needs a respray on the bumpers although chips aren't awful. I try to keep the rubber seals conditioned and they seem to be aging well, maybe a replacement at 25yrs or so.
PPI: Fairly clean PPI with window not going down all the way (fixed), headlight fuse failing (fixed)
Recommended maintenance: Good oil, frequently. Respect basic maintenance as critical due to the need to stack the odds in favor of m96s. Small mistakes can be expensive, so enjoy the car and treat it well.

General Notes: Planning to add center console delete, sport springs or coilovers, repainted bumpers with 3M protection. I mostly drive this car in the canyons and freeways out west. It doesn't spend time in traffic & has very low type 1 over-revs and zero type 2s. My plan is to keep it through the end of the decade and hopefully just add a turbo or ~81 targa down the road. The performance on this car is incredible, a true momentum machine. It's been on road trips from SLC-Telluride/Ouray, SLC-Zion NP, SLC-Central Colorado. Very reliable car for me so far. Most of the costs incurred are due to trying to frontload maintenance costs & be proactive with the 15 year refresh of peripherals. It's a pleasure to work on & drive.
