Default WTB/rent: engine support bar

Looks like the clutch release fork may have broken, so I need to pull the tranny. Anyone have an engine support bar I can buy or rent? I've seen threads on how to do a DIY build but I'd rather hit the easy button and buy or rent one that's already been made, or use the factory tool.

I had the same happen on mine. Seems like that fork going out might be common.

I honestly don't know where you could find one but the DIY builds didn't seem to difficult.

Good Luck!

Update - unfortunately all three of those people do NOT have the bar in stock, including the guys who claim "IN STOCK!". Still looking - not looking for a screaming deal, just looking for the bar!! Again, will buy or rent.

I think there are dimensions on Renntech if you're handy with a sawzall a drill and a welder...you could probably whip one up for about $25 in materials and a little elbow grease

Here, you can make it with two 5" x 1.5" and one 34" long x 2.5" angle iron. also a couple 3/8 x 1" screws and one 3/8 x 3-4" screw.
The two holes on the hangers are for the sway bar screws use one of the sway bar caps to mark them.
A third hole in each hanger is for a 3/8" bolt that holds them to the 34" piece.
The 4? inch long bolt is for engine support in the middle of the 34" bar.

Get a 1.5 square x 3" hardwood piece drill a 1/2" hole ~1/4" deep in the center put a slug, coin, washer in the 1/2" inche hole for the center bolt/engine rest.

Ordered from automation a week and a half ago, and not so much as a tracking number. I really and not super confident in my fabricating skills but looks like that's the only option - thanks for the detailed specs and instructions, it looks doable.

Harbor Freight, $60. Very heavy duty and adjustable to fit most any vehicle.
There are several stores in my location, so I had one in my garage with only a 20 minute drive.

Unfortunately on a 996 coupe the "over the top" support from harbor freight doesn't work. Need something that bolts into the sway bar mount points and holds the engine from underneath.

And.... looks like following the fabrication instructions is the ONLY option now. Called yesterday to check on the status and was told it was "being built in Romania, with an 8-10 week timeframe for delivery." That's autoparts speak for "they're going to discontinue that tool but we are going to keep your money til you demand it back".
