Default Wurth Wheel Paint

Is the Wurth silver wheel paint they advertise as german silver a decent match for the OEM color on Carrera Lightweights?

Yes. I used Wurth 892181 on all 4 of my Carrera's wheels. Matched perfectly. Well, the match was good on my standard wheels. Turbo twists? Sanded, primed (just std auto primer), color coated, then a few coats of Duplicolor clearcoat.

did you guys do anything to help keep the finish smooth on paint chips ? is sanding enough to make it look 'flush' ?

I have a set of wheels but they are pretty beat up (track use), tons of chips on them, no curb rash but chips.

any suggestion on how to make it look good

No. You need to level with body filler and then sand flush if you want a perfectly smooth finish.

It's a very good match, using the clear / topcoat is key to getting the color

You can also paint your wheels to match your car, which I plan on doing this spring

Painted my Techarts in Wurth, going to repaint them in GT Silver

you can get aerosol cans made up here, very good stuff
