Gonzo: "Work the system however you like. Be proud."
I don't think you turned your sarcasm font on. I get it, but I think it will sail over the intended target.
"It's a tow truck, and I don't care what it's tied up doing..." In a nutshell you have spoken volumes. People here have been incredibly kind.

This thread is starting to remind me of the guy that dumped on the Boxster owner at the car show that offered to let his kid sit in his car. I was amazed that anyone would go on a public forum and let everyone know what a tool he was.
OP had the ***** to admit he screwed up, and was looking for help. Bad original decision on his part, but he seems to have acknowledged that and that speaks well for him. This other nonsense just depresses me. Shouldn't have to explain morals, but then again I guess I need to recognize that not everyone thinks like me.

UBER and Lyft are always going to be your best friends. Sorry about your circumstance, we all make mistakes, just make the necessary corrections with yourself. For what it's worth, uber is so readily available and CHEAP here in Vegas I take it even if I'm only going to have one drink. No more than $10 one way anywhere I am going (unless strip then around $20), definitely worth the peace of mind.
As for the breathalyzer, I know it would kill me to chop into my Porsche. I would take the beater route, but Kalashnikov brought up a good point about not being able to own a car without the system. If you own the car outright, do you have a loving mom/dad/grandma you could sign ownership too? Then when this is over transfer title back to your name. They wouldn't even have to register it, and keep documentation showing the car doesn't really have X amount of additional owners. Just a thought.

Come on man, really??? M3, I don't mean to throw stones in your glass house, but two wrongs don't make a right. Gaming the system hurts all of us that pay premiums and play by the rules. If you want to drink to the point of inhibiting your driving, then call your spouse or a friend to drive you home. I hope you have at least one of those two.

You are uniquely qualified to make this judgment...
That's some SWEET backpedaling. I especially like how you defended your position several times before recanting.
This goes a long way toward explaining many of your other posts...
There has been a dearth of users who are both habitually wrong AND overtly disagreeable since KK left - thanks for trying to fill that void.

I'm sure we've all been there...I'm just got lucky I never got caught. Since AZ passed some of the strictest mandatory DUI laws in the Country, Uber has become my best friend. Sad really that the laws are my main motivator. It always should have been for my safety, the safety of others on the road, and because its the right thing to do...
My boys are grown men (in age anyway!) but I have my credit card on their Uber app. I never wanted the cost to be a factor in a bad decision.

That was definitely true when I was younger...the legal ramifications were what kept me from DUI. At 46, the thought of living with the guilt of killing or maiming someone is at least as much - or maybe more - of a disincentive as the legal and financial consequences...

I wasn't gonna admit to it, but - yeah, I did it once. In fact, I did it in a 914 of all things. We were in Tijuana and left our cars on the San Diego side many years ago. My GF and I went down for a party, and I was over the limit. It was one of the stupidest things I did, even though we only drove about 6 miles to her house. No excuses, youth - distance - night - none of it matters.
