Florida over 100mph ticket?

I suppose those testing land speed records in the distance are reckless as well.

Not really. It was just a Saturday and I didn't want to push the car past 6,000.
Out here daily triples are the norm, not the exception. We have 400 miles between us and the nearest major city. 80 & 85mph limits are common. So, we enjoy the space . It sure beats living in the megalopolis for me.

Fun fact of the day, If you got caught 45kms (27 miles) over the speed limit here in Melbourne you'd potentially get:
- 12 months loss of licence
- get 8+ points of max 12 (they come back in 3 years)
- your car impounded for a month (3 impoundments and your car would be crushed regardless of the value)
- have to appear in court
- anywhere between 1,000-23,000 fine (the upper limit is when they give you a dangerous driving charge which is a criminal offence that can get you jail time)
- attend a $1,000 driving school course
- if you're convicted in court it goes on your driving record for 10 years
Anyway just thought I'd share that you'd be in a bigger world of pain in this country

I was going through Barstow at about 2:30 am ,and got caught on radar .I knew I was speeding ,mustang in fifth and tach over six grand ,when I saw the cops head lights way behind me I pulled over and waited. When he got there his face was red he was yelling "Do you know how fast you were going?" I shrugged my shoulders told him the speedo only went to 85mph.Then he tells me I got you on radar at 128 mph,I apologized and told him the car had all the H D stuff on it to go fast.I said I can't dispute the speed. He writes me up for over 100mph but no wreckless no arrest.Cost me $800 which I had to go there and pay it.Never saw the judge and I or 2 points on my license.

We have lots of open desert here in NV. You can drive for an hour and not see another car. This road cuts across from 95 to 395. No cars, no houses, no cell phone reception. I regularly drive over 100 on it. Always make sure the car is 100% and don't fock up because it will be a long time before someone comes along to help you!

You be careful my friend Spork! Even on flat roads, going that fast and hitting a sudden dip can send you sailing into the sand. And then you'd bleed to death and no one would find you until you eventually turn into a skeleton. Then, your Porsche would be left to rust away and become desert art. And we'd miss you man, so don't drive that fast, keep it at 35 mph and you'll live.

The best part of the Porsche experience for me is the acceleration. That pull you get in 2nd gear and running over 5500Rpm's to just under redline is intoxicating. Best part, I can experience it under the highway speed limit.
