Early June works best for me. Will be in San Diego in mid-March, Germany in late April. Will probably bring a couple of buddies with me that I typically go to Vegas with for a guys' trip and we normally do that in early June.

count me in to help

as for a drive, if this takes place in January - we won't want to goto Mt. Charleston..... lots of snow and often chains are required to go up there.

but - the Valley of Fire and or Death Valley would be great.

I do the Valley of Fire drive a lot - the valley is spectacular to look at... but this part is a State Park and they are REALLY strict about speed... so it isn't that fun to drive.....

BUT - then you exit the park and can enter Lake Mead National Park and run down lake shore drive all the way to hoover dam. No Cops and one of the smoothest and best stretches of asphalt I have ever been on.

we typically meet-up at Las Vegas Motor Speedway - head up and tour Valley of Fire, then brunch/lunch in Overton and then down through Lake Mead Park to hoover dam. total drive is about 160 miles.

I'd recommend the new Speed Vegas over Exotic. They have a purpose-built new track - haven't run it yet but have heard it's a ton of fun. they now host the local Cars and Coffee event as well

another thing to see: The Porsche Dealer in town (Gaudin) is the first official "Porsche Classics" dealer in the nation and their showroom if FULL of very expensive old Porsches..... we should each buy one.

I am not sure why I thought you guys were thinking January. but as for time of year

- yes avoid summer; its too damn hot

If you truly wanna do some track time - (4) times per year the local PCA club rents out the 3.4 mile track at Spring Mountain Motorsports Park in Pahrump - about 45 miles away from Vegas. PCA will release the dates for these events in January...... so you could try to schedule this event around a track day. BUT these track days are "full days" and there may not be that much energy and you'd have to drive about an hour back to vegas.

OR

every first Sunday of the month the Porsche club hosts a big breakfast... if trip was planned on a 1st weekend we could bring a big 996 contingent.

we could also goto Cars and Coffee - held every weekend.

I'm arriving in Vegas on Saturday. I'll check on things. By things, I mean a pai gow table and the beer supply.

Count me in

As Iko mentioned, Spring Mountain in Pahrump is a great track. Not a lot to do in Pahrump, but they do have a few casinos and for those that partake, brothels are legal there

Pretty sure I'll save my $$ for the more wholesome activities like the track, a good steakhouse, liquor, blackjack tables and strip clubs.

What happens in Vegas, Stays in Vegas.

Except for that raging case of herpes you picked up at the legal brothel...

those not-legal brothels there are great
It's still a quote if you use the same words, right? The order doesn't matter all that much...

Sounds like a blast. Memorial Weekend and the one after are out for me otherwise I'm good. If we rent a track I'll haul the toy out there. If we do a drive exotic or equivalent I'll probably just fly.
