Is a PPI necessary if the car has a CPO?

I just went through this on a CPO car. Absolutely yes. Get a PPI.

There's a very eye opening thread on this very topic in the 997 forum. Long story, short... Yes!

kinda - you are really not looking for mechanical problems per se - those are covered
But all wear items are not - such as brakes/tires/etc
make sure all services are up to date - and make sure all the tires new less than 6 years and N rated
and obviously look at condition
If you can see it in person and inspect everything then no
but if buying out of state - absolutely

Things I know: Not all dealers follow PCNA's full CPO requirements. Get a PPI.
And...
Make sure that all services due, or nearly due, are complete. Ask for proof.
Make sure you negotiate for the latest PCM update, if the car is so equipped. This is not part of the CPO process - surprisingly. Dealers charge up to $600 depending on year and model.
Finally, check to make sure the windshield wipers have been replaced (really - mine disintegrated in a rain storm the morning after I bought the Cayenne.).
PCNA's CPO program is fabulous, not all dealers are the same.

I didn't know CPO was even possible on a 996. No age restrictions on CPO?
