Default My new '99 C2 Coupe Track Car

So I was slowly turning my 99 C2 daily driver into a track car. It was time to add all of the safety stuff but I couldnt help but feel that as soon as I added a roll bar, it would lose a lot of its DD appeal. From there the next step was stiffer suspension, aero kit, lighter weight etc. But I would be out a ton of money and didn't even know if I would like it once it was done. So when I saw this car on RL classifieds, I jumped on it. Well then I changed my mind, backed out, jumped back in... but regardless, it's now mine.

So my 12yo son and I drove out to Princeton Jct, New Jersey to pick it up. It was a long drive but we had a lot of fun.

So here it is! Highlights include

Full roll cage, Evo seats, 2017 harnesses, Fire suppression
Moton club sport 2-way remotes
Eibach springs 800#F/1000#R
GT3 sways, LCAs, adjustable drop links, toe links, dogbones
TRG camber plates
MKII aero kit
Vinyl striping
CDS data system with Amb transponder
Momo quick release hub and wheel
B&M SSK

New engine dealer installed in '06 with 8k track miles on it
X51 oiling kit and baffle
Fabspeed performance system (intake, muffler bypass, cat delete, headers)
Under drive puller with AC delete
Quaife LSD

I believe it also has a tune as there is no CEL from the cat delete

Purchase price $30k

And some pics!

Sweet! You def got a track car. Good buy, I don't think you could've replicated it for the amount you paid.

You should get the Elephant Racing X brace for it.

Thanks guys!

@Alpine, did you really just make the first mod suggestion? You are evil, but of course I'll check it out!

Wow! Very cool. Let's see some track vid's.

It just needs the Rennline tow hook up front for a perfect look.

Ya the Rennline tow hooks are definitely the best looking.... First Autocross on Saturday then off to Hallet the following Friday. Will post some video after that.

Dropped the pan to make sure it really had an X51 baffle and see what all was in there. Some specs of metal but no flakes or plastic bits. Will get a UOA as well.

I need to post the DME when I get a chance. Sadly by far the worst I've seen but I'm guessing it has to do with the tune and changing the rev limiter. Wost case scenario I already have a rebuild scheduled for next year but this one seems to be the better of the two engines.

Is that a KrazyK special oil baffle?

Is that really what the X51 looks like? Looks like something cobbled together from HomeDepot!

Them's fightin words! Like nuclear weapons of choice fightin words.

No, that's what it looks like. And my understanding is most of the deep sump kits use the same baffle.

Here is the original baffle out of my other one. I was surprised it was so beefy but apparently it's more of a design flaw issue.

Fantastic car!

That racing decal is very late 90s, almost too good to remove.
