Thanks, all good. Neck hurts today but that's it.

$1060 for the barrier damage. I so want to go down there and tell them "I'm here to pick up the used barriers I purchased."

Oohhh man. That absolutely sucks Brandon. Glad to hear you are doing ok.

So did you actually find the leaking caliper bleeder? I would think squealing brakes would be generating alot of heat from inefficiency. One of the guys I run with who has a 997 had a pedal to the floor issue once an he contributed it to boiling brake fluid. It was at the end of a hot summer day when it happened. No accident but he was definitely done for the day. What front air brake cooling ducts are you using? Are you running heat backing plates on your pads?

No brake ducts at the moment due to new thrust arms. Yes, the RR outside bleeder was pumping out fluid when every time I hit the pedal. Simply tightening it got my brakes back.

I run Castro SRF fluid, Pagid Orange front pads, and hawk DTC-70 rears. I've also upgraded to a 997gt3 master cylinder. The brakes performed flawlessly all weekend long. Well, at least until they didn't I guess.

Is your "Home Owners" policy up to date?
Looks like you forgot to set your parking brake and it just rolled out of the driveway.

Yes you would!

I just noticed that they listed this incident at T12. Since my incident was at T11 they obviously have mistaken me for somebody else. I'm going to contest.

Ok I have questions:

#1: Slakker paid to drive here. He had a car failure which caused him to impact a track barrier. They want him to pay for repairs! If he was being "stupid" and drove head long into a barrier for fun...ok. He did not do that! Is this normal for tracks?

#2: I agree I would definitely request the damaged barrier pieces. After all you earned them.

#3: Slak, I think you should contest the report as turn 12 is a looooong way from turn 11. Unless, of course your brain got jiggled more than you thought and it was really turn 12!

They are actually pretty smart about it and charge the promoter, not the individual. Mark with MVP is a great guy and I've already paid him as he had to pay the track upon completion of the event. It's total BS but considering there were about 8 COTA workers that took around 45 min to get my car loaded, transported, and unloaded I guess it could have been worse. It was also announced at the driver meeting every morning that we were responsible for any damage done to the track including barriers and guard rails. So I knew the rules and am basically just whining at this point.

It's pretty standard and it's disclosed in the materials you sign when you sign up. Some tracks don't enforce it strictly, but some do. For example, even if all they have to do is repaint a section of the rails at Watkins Glen, boom, bill to you.

I know a guy who got a bill for $1200 for oil dry when his oil cooler blew.
