Instead of $9.09 a Qt. I paid $7.45 or so per qt. in the 5 Qt. jugs and did it online and picked up the containers at a local Pep Boys.

Autozone had 5 quarts for $29.95 with a free filter. ( I picked out filters
for my wife's car). So I got 10 quarts and 2 filters for $60 plus tax.

Only those whot know how important a 'clean' oil filter element can be compared to one with lots of ferrous particulate and/or plastic chunks. I use it solely as an indicator to engine health.

Hmmmm....

Please correct me if I'm wrong... But....From the cutouts of the various oil filters shown on this thread I noticed everyone is saying how clean and particle free their filters are... But what I see is that everyone is showing the "inner" tunnel of the filter - Namely the "clean" side.

Have you guys been checking the outside ridges of the filter - Namely the "dirty" side?...

Hi guys,
excuse my poor english, I'm from EU. I think that if you change the oil every 4k or 8k, you must use a semi-racing motor oil for your flatsix; standard oils are formulated for higer mileage and in my humble opinion those motoroils have less detergents. this is, I think, the reason why after 4k your oil seems still like new. I have just changed my motoroil after 5k but it was already dirty. My function is: dirty oil=cleaned engine but this is my opinion.
just a question: what does it mean "European car Formula" on Mobil 1 Jar ?
