Default Comfort seats

My car has the option code for driver and passenger seat comfort seats. Can someone tell me how these differ from "standard" seats. My car doesn't have supple leather.

hmmm, never heard of comfort seats on a 996? I know they have them on the Cayenne.

I saw them on a 911 Anniversary model. A bit wider than the regular seat. At least they felt like it to me.

It is option code 437 and 438 for the left and right seats respectively.

I have them on mine. It has an additonal 4 way lumbar support on both Driver and Passenger seat.
You can pump air into the seat support points.

That 4 way lumbar feature seems to have come standard on my 01 C4.

Or one of other options... supple leather, full leather, heated, memory, etc...

Is your a 40th Anniv edition? That is the only car that I'm aware of that has these Comfort seats and as far as I can tell, they are standard seats with the "special" 40th Anniv leather perforation. I believe the 40th comes standard with Sport Seats and the Standard seats are an option in the form of "Comfort Seats". Make sense.

I am 6'2" and 210. The sport seats were too snug for me. Comfort seats felt fine.

Well, I'm 5'10", 165 lbs and the sport seats fit me like a glove with great backand lumbar support. I've always loved the look of the sport seats with the color keyed hard backs as well. This is the kind of option you really need to drive in awhile, not just sit in at the dealers lot.

I agree with OH996 I test drove 996 with sport seats and felt very uncomfortable and could not mold to the seat....I am 6'1" and 170.....my shoulders felt always pushed forward and sore after awhile...that's just me love the cars though.....thanks

Default Seats

Our 99 996 had sports seats but our 01 C4 has "comfort" seats.

Having driven both completely coast to coast I would never voluntarily do that again with sport seats.

The 4-way lumbar is a godsend.

Some years ago Ford had comfort seats with adjustable lumbar, bolsters, and thigh supports, why were they discontinued?

I also have comfort seats but no lumbar adjustment. What's up with that?

I thought that comfort seat option meant the power seats.
