Default MY2000 Tiptronic-S?

I was under the impression that the Tiptronic-S became available with MK-II. Here is a photo of the original window sticker from my 2000 Tip Cab showing the transmission as a Tiptronic-S. According to what I've read, Tiptronic-S transmissions require a different fluid. Do I really have a Tip-S or is that just how they listed them in 2000?

No, where would I do that? Btw, this is the original window sticker, not a reproduction.

It looks like an official Porsche site and it's asking for a Dealer username and password. Further checking
of that thread shows that Porsche has closed it to the public.

In the UK, but I would think just as applicable elsewhere, all 996 tiptronics are tiptronic S .
The earlier air cooled cars with the auto box were called tiptronic, when the steering wheel switches were introduced this became known as tiptronic S.
The 3.4 996 carrera has a ZF gearbox, whilst the facelift 3.6 996 carrera has a Mercedes box. Both these gearboxes were sold as tiptronic S.

Check the Cayenne forum here on RL. They have a sticky about how to make use of the Porsche site. There are some tricks you have to play to avoid the user/password prompt.

I can tell you, however, that it's not entirely accurate as it reports our 01 C4 coupe is a Targa. I can assure you that it is not a Targa as it doesn't even have a sunroof (being listed as a Targa and then showing the sunroof delete option is pretty funny though) and the Targa wasn't available in the US for MY 01.

Edit: This post specifically:

Hopefully that works!

So you do have the first generation tiptronic S which was found in 3.4L vehicles. The second generation tiptronic S which is found in 3.6L vehicles has the greatly improved mapping of shifts.

Aren't there 2 different transmissions for the TT too? One for the 01 MY and another for the rest?

Thanks for the detailed explanation. I was confused because all the posts I've read refer to the MK-I (ZF) units as Tiptronic and the MK-II Mercedes units as Tiptronic-S. So it turns out that the "-S" isn't a meaningful designation. Mystery solved.
