Default New (2015) list of Porsche approved (a40) oils - and a strange change ...

I just got this list from the local dealer, apparently it's the latest (July 2015), and I thought it might be helpful to share it. (Before I contacted the dealer, I googled, and found lots of threads in various forums asking for the list, but they were all at least a few years old. I also searched the Porsche site, with no luck.)

Apologies for the formatting - this is how it was sent to me. Note that if you try to open it in your browser, it might be unreadable. You probably need to download it.

And there is something surprising. No 5w-50 oils. I'm 99% sure 5w-50 is one of the three grades approved for our cars.

Edit: Except that there still is one - Mobile 1 as JayG and Ahsai point out below. So no strange or suprising change then. I can't change the title of this thread can I ... ? :-(

Anyway, I hope the list will still be helpful.

Thanks for the list. The 5w-50 listings are still there under Mobil. Just search for "5w-50" in the doc.

Interesting how the "highly" recommended Joe Gibbs DT-40 is still not on the approved list

Oops, I seem to have scanned it a bit too quickly!

No Phillips products on the list. Something tells me there's a cost to be borne to 'get on the list' from the vendors in question.

Does some one have an updated list of Porsche approved oils?
Any recommendation about using 5W-50 in southern states with a non-turbo 996?
