Clutch interlock switch
Don't know if any of you have experienced this anomaly.
From time to time, the car would not start, even with the clutch
fully depressed.
Took it to my indie today. He was able to adjust the engagement
switch such that it worked every time.
He also had a computer which could "see" the switch either open or closed - as you depressed the clutch. That's how he knew the switch was good - but simply mis-adjusted.
30 minutes later, I was on my way.
He also told me from time to time, they find a bad switch - which
needs to be replaced.
A simple switch could totally immobilize the car. And for liability
reasons, they will not remove the switch so you don't need to depress the clutch at all to start the car.

Yes, it can be adjusted and Durametric can read its status. Actually you can hear the switch clicking if you listen very closely at the end of the clutch pedal travel. If the clicking is missing, you know the switch needs at least a realignment.

While I love the U. S. of A., some of the laws we have on the books to protect the idiots are a little tiresome for the non-idiots. If I lived somewhere that was cold enough to warrant a remote starter, I'd rip that switch out...

I had this problem too. After replacing the ignition switch and not seeing an improvement, I replaced the switch on the clutch pedal.
It turns out that the old switch's fasteners were just loose. Causing the problem you had. I could have just tightened them up but I had already bought a new switch.

Put a RoW flash on the ECU. It will eliminate the usage of the switch.
