Default The internal wheel question

I have been wanting to change my 17" OEM wheels for some time for 18" wheels.
I came across some panamera wheels that I got very cheap and could not resist.$350 for all four. They are not very exciting wheels as I would have hoped for but should do the job for now. My 17" are black and I like the look but I am hesitant to get these powder coated black as well. What do you guys think?Always a dilemma.https://rennlist.com/forums/attachme...1&d=1452616401

How much will it cost to get the rims powdercoated? Maybe have the rims "photoshopped" black first and see it looks on your car before you spend.

Ah. I did not see what you did there.

As far as powdercoat, I'm not sold. A black 996 looks mighty fine with silver/metal wheels; the black on black look is a little too murdered out for my tastes.

Are the Panamera offsets close to the 996 offsets?

^ That's the right question to ask before refinishing your wheels.

Your 996 wheels are staggered. The width of the rear wheels is wider than the front wheels. I believe the panamera wheels you purchased are not staggered, all four are the same width. The fronts will probably fit well, the rears will fit on the car but will not be the ideal set up for a high performance sports cars. I wouldn't take it to the track with that set up.

I tested the wheels on the car before buying them and the fit was perfect without spacers and not rubbing.I will know better with tires on if spacers would become necessary . Yes they are staggered. The front are 8" and the rear 9".The E.T is 59 front and 53 rear.Does that sound ok to you guys?

Didn't stock stagger between 7.5 and 10? I have on lobster forks from a 997 and they are 8/11.

Are we still talking about rims, or something else?

If you install the proper width rear tires, which should be 265-275 for the C2 and even wider 285 and higher for the C4 cars, then the sidewalls will appear more bulged out with the 9" width vs. 10" width rims.
