I presently have 17 x 7 at the front with 205/50/17
17 X 9 at the rear with 255/40/17

These wheels are 18 X 8 at the front with 225/40/18
18 X 9 at the rear with 265/35/18

They will be less staggered but as a DD I don't think it would make a big deal. Of course for tracking I would want to go a least 18 X 10 at the rear. I don't think the bulging would be that great for 10 mm.I do question going from 7 to 8 at the front and staying at 9 at the rear. The garage I dealt with said he sold a lot of the same wheels for 911s and everyone seemed satisfied,Never any comebacks.

Why not just wait and get the wheels you REALLY want. Your car was designed for 18x8 and 18x10 so why not get those and be done right?

I guess you have a point there. Stay with the engineering design.

The key for you is the DD part, you are not planning to track the car......
I was looking at the Victor Turismo for the 996, they are 18 X 8 for the front and 18 X 9.5 at the rear.....(there is also an 18 X 11 for the rear at the same cost)
Given that data point, I do not think it will be a big issue for a DD if the rears are 9, as long as you install tires that keep it within 3% "circumference" of the stock tires....
By the way, your stock plasti-dip 17" looks really nice glossy, just like the VictorTurismo 18, but without the chrome lip.
Did you use the plasti dip "glossifier"?
I also plasti dipped the stock 17's, but kept them flat black.....
Attached is a picture of the Victor Turismo

No these were powder coated. I do like the gloss black but hesitant to give the new wheels the same treatment. Maybe plasti-dip to test .I can always go back then to the original silver. Thanks for the remarks about the rear wheels with the 9" or 9,5". I am not sure it would make a big difference as a DD balance wise.
