Default RMS tool for rent???

Anybody (preferably in the NC area) that has a RMS tool (factory or home made) they'd be willing to lend me or rent out?

You can easily make one from Home Depot parts.

Stjoh,

Give these guys a call and they might be able to provide some advice. Friends have worked w them in the past for Porsche parts and they were very helpful.

Vertex in Miami rents the tools for $75 . I don,t know if you need to buy their bearing since it,s listed as a separate part

There have been several members here, including me, who have loaned the RMS tool to others. Make sure you reach out to members in your area.

Sorry my poor reading skills I have never used anything special to install a rear main seal You can usually find a plastic plumbing fitting at home depot the same diameter and use it to drive a seal without damage. I,ve been doing it that way or with something similar as a professional tech for more than 40 yrs with no returns that I can recall.

The M9xx engines aren't as easy as many others. One reason is that there is no lip to set the bearing against so it is very easy to get it cocked, drive it through into the crankcase and get it stuck in there on the crankshaft, etc...

Meirschwartz was kind enough to loan me his tool. This is what makes these forums so great.
