How Many Mods can you Spot on this 99?

$23,000 would be my upper limit. Car has only 44k miles. Strip off a few of the goofy mods and leave the nicer ones and it would be a nice car.
The "GTS" script on the engine cover goes before you pull it off the car lot (take a roll of dental floss with you when you pick it up) or we will send a drunken DTM to punch you in the nards.
I think most would be easy to fix. For example, the ignition key surround should just be a matter of hitting it with some black spray paint (plasti-dip or whatever is best for interior surfaces).
Toss the seatbelt strap cushions/flotation devices (heck, you might even be able to sell them for $10 to somebody).
Swap the blue foot pedals for silver aluminum.
Get rid of the "GTS" decals on the sides. I actually kind of like the "Carrera 4" decals with the little red accent stripe on the sides if the wheels weren't already "redded up", but just remove the whole thing now bcz the passenger side one will have to go entirely due to the spacing.
Pull the sun visor off the rear window.
Same for the windshield sticker.
Rear wheel rock guards should just peel off.
The rear underbody FVD spoiler should also come off easily.
At that point, about the only "over the top" left is the steering wheel. Without the other stuff, it might be OK. A little bling is good for a silver car.

3M Dinoc is always matte. They don't make clear. There's another vinyl company that does make clear coated CF that looks surprisingly real.

Oh wait. They want me to pay them?
I wouldn't offer a dime for it willingly. If you held a gun to my head, $15k. After that just pull the trigger. Please!

Somebody get ready to pull the trigger and I'll go drive it on a cold day and score the cylinders for you. Actually, it's a pretty cool car, but needs to be de-moddded a bit.

No joking about that. Those of us already on the fence about buying a 996 in cold climates don't need any more reason to be paranoid.

Salesperson at dealership just told me IMS was done at 14k miles...no documentation. No clue on RMS. Those are the only wheels that come with vehicle and they are 'original' to the car according to previous owner... Yeah, just as original as the red CF ignition cover and recaro seatbelt covers.
Car is supposed to be otherwise immaculate and dealer knows what the car is worth (not willing to drop the price). Just when I think there's potential in a vehicle, a dozen red flags go up and send me running.

I do like the exterior*, although the inside isn't my thing.
RMS and IMS are a "easy" $2500 bill at a shop to check out, which, it seems, on these cars is par for the course when buying one.
*I don't like the GT4 stuff, but the body kit and styling is nice.

This is what is on the car: Custom BBS Sport Classic II wheels with new Michelin PS2 tires and Cargraphic centerlock wheel caps.
Did Porsche make the BBSs an option on the 99 Paul?

No they know what they want it to be worth. That's not a $27k car much less a $30k car. Maybe if they find the right person that likes all that garbage they can beat them up to a ridiculous price, but the reality is that the rest of the world will want to remove much/all of that stuff to return it to stock.
In stock unmolested form that's probably a 22k car with a 24k top end. As it sits when you figure in the replacement parts and labor (and probably a bit of paint correction) to make it more presentable you're probably looking at 5k or so. So take that into account and 17-19 is probably about right.
The chances that someone is going to swoop in and take the car at that price is pretty low. Let it sit there a couple of months and then have another chat with them. Bet the price will start getting down to the realm of the reasonable once they get tired of looking at it.

So much of the "upgrades" on that car need to come off and/or be fixed - like the "centerlocks," the aluminum pedals and dead pedal (hopefully that's just spraypaint and they're not anodized that god-awful color), and getting the CF to match (or at least the CF that's left after removing any stickers).
Less really is more in some situations - like interior upgrades. *urp*

If you ever wanted me to take a look at the car for you, let me know. I'm about 8 miles away from it.

I'm not even sure where to start with that car. I think others have hit the nail on the head. Some of the mods work. Some don't. But there are just so damn many of them that I think it's not worth resolving. Personally, I think there are too many other cars out there that are better sorted. I'd skip something like this. It says a lot about one or more of the prior owners...and I'm not sure what it's saying is very good. lol
