Default Black foam in 2003 C2 air box

Does anyone know the part number for the black foam in the bottom of the air box?
I was vacuuming the dirt out during a filter change and some of that foam got sucked up.
It is a little like the HVAC foam. Know the reason for it in the first place?

Sounds dampening is my guess.

Ignore it,... I had the same situation and called Porsche
as the part was not listed

Parts department asked one of the techs and then said to remove and discard

Ask Hurdi and I'm sure he'll know where to find it in Home Depot. No need for a part number for something trivial like that.

Oh crap, I don't have any black foam in my airbox! That explains the repeated hydrolocking.

Do you leave your car under the down spout during monsoons? Wasn't it Navy that did that and got a new engine from his insurance?

I also guessed cut down on resonance and water vapor/condensate buffering.
One person on Renntech just cut some foam air filter material to shape and mounted it under the grid.

I looked at mine recently and put it back (didn't see a use for it), but then thought about the water issue. Next time I'm in there, I'm going to trim a green ScotchBrite pad to fit. It should work the same and be more durable. Of note is the need to make SURE it's well-fastened under the grid on the bottom of the air box.
