Default The Hunt is Over!

After being without a 996 since March when I sold my '99 C4 aero coupe, I put down a deposit on its replacement yesterday. I am very psyched about it - the wife and I fly to New York on Saturday to meet the seller and test drive the car. Assuming all looks as advertised, I will wire transfer the balance due on Monday morning, pick up the car and head back west to Kansas City on a nice road trip. In the meantime, I will be treating said wife to a nice weekend in Manhattan.
I am absolutely blown away by the fact that the exact car I wanted (actually better than I wanted) came available at a price I was comfortable paying. I have noticed over the last 3 weeks, several nice 996TT's have come on the market at very reasonable prices. I actually was trying to buy a different car but couldn't get the seller to return my calls, texts and e-mails when this car appeared Tuesday morning. Long story short: 2002 996TT, guards red over black, 6 speed, 47k miles, sport seats (with the all-important deviated stitching), OZ aftermarket 18" wheels, new tires, new clutch 2,000 miles ago, great service history, some nice power upgrades, upgraded stereo system, aluma-look gauges. The car is still listed on ebay at an asking price of $38,000 (selling price was south of that) if you want more deets.
Here are a few pics from ebay ad:

I'll post a few updates along the way home. Thanks to everyone in the "Craigslist Finds" thread for keeping an eye out for candidates over the past few months. As I said back in March when I sold the '99, I plan to keep my smartass comments and boobie pics and shirtless Kalashnikov photos right here in the 996 NA forum.

Really digging the color (I am partial), wheels major +, as is the roll bar, just needs a good detailing and some suspension work maybe some spacers in the rear.

What's the route home from NYC? I'm not far out of the way.... And I like beer.

Edit: I just mapped it. If you don't stop by I am kicking your ***.

Where are you in WVA? If his path could take him close to you, then you probably aren't that far from me (next to IAD). 996 smart *** meet up? I need a hair cut anyway

Nice looking car KC and congrats. For the love of god though, take a new stick to swap in there before you drive off

I'm in PA near Harrisburg, just off 81. Although I will be at Summit Point tomorrow. You around? I'm done around 5:30.

Harrisburg huh? WTF you got WVA plates for then? I'll have to remember that when we go to her mom's for Columbus Day, maybe a quick meet and great on the way through Harrisburg.

No way I try to fight rush hour traffic on Route 9 for your sorry *** tomorrow.

I'm sorry you can't recognize PA plates?

Guess not, guess I was too distracted by that thing you call a race car.

Asked my wife if she wanted to go watch Miatas race tomorrow: "Who the f... would "race" that?"

I love that woman
