The Hunt is Over!
After being without a 996 since March when I sold my '99 C4 aero coupe, I put down a deposit on its replacement yesterday. I am very psyched about it - the wife and I fly to New York on Saturday to meet the seller and test drive the car. Assuming all looks as advertised, I will wire transfer the balance due on Monday morning, pick up the car and head back west to Kansas City on a nice road trip. In the meantime, I will be treating said wife to a nice weekend in Manhattan.
I am absolutely blown away by the fact that the exact car I wanted (actually better than I wanted) came available at a price I was comfortable paying. I have noticed over the last 3 weeks, several nice 996TT's have come on the market at very reasonable prices. I actually was trying to buy a different car but couldn't get the seller to return my calls, texts and e-mails when this car appeared Tuesday morning. Long story short: 2002 996TT, guards red over black, 6 speed, 47k miles, sport seats (with the all-important deviated stitching), OZ aftermarket 18" wheels, new tires, new clutch 2,000 miles ago, great service history, some nice power upgrades, upgraded stereo system, aluma-look gauges. The car is still listed on ebay at an asking price of $38,000 (selling price was south of that) if you want more deets.
Here are a few pics from ebay ad:
I'll post a few updates along the way home. Thanks to everyone in the "Craigslist Finds" thread for keeping an eye out for candidates over the past few months. As I said back in March when I sold the '99, I plan to keep my smartass comments and boobie pics and shirtless Kalashnikov photos right here in the 996 NA forum.

What's the route home from NYC? I'm not far out of the way.... And I like beer.
Edit: I just mapped it. If you don't stop by I am kicking your ***.

Nice looking car KC and congrats. For the love of god though, take a new stick to swap in there before you drive off
